Coarse ware jugs in funerary context: technical and functional observations on the pottery from the cemeteries at Alburnus Maior

This study analyses a specific category of Roman ceramic vessels identified in the funerary inventories from Alburnus Maior: 26 coarse ware jugs present graves cemeteries at Tăul Corna, Găuri – Hop, Secuilor/Pârâul Porcului and area circular monument. They all share morphological technological characteristics, least part them are imitations bronze vessels. From functional point view they can be framed cooking were produced fabrics. The locally, during 4th 6th/7th? decades 2nd century AD used for boiling water. Their presence might regarded as an identity marker group who everyday life and, ritual, could show predilection consuming hot drinks banquet.
